our guidelines for riding!
This is a no drop ride meaning we leave no one behind.
If you have a mechanical, call it out and pass the word to the front so we can stop and get it fixed.
Please let the ride leader lead and do not ride ahead.
Call out road hazards – holes, poles, plates, grates & tracks, including other cyclists and pedestrians when riding on trails.
If we are riding through a red light or stop sign and there is a gap between you and the riders ahead, do not assume the drivers will let you pass. Please stop. The group will stop so you can catch up.
Please be aware of the cyclists around you! Cycle predictably and no sudden stops.
No trick riding including wheelies, curb jumping, etc.
Ride side by side. Do not ride with your front wheel even with the back wheel of the rider in
front of you! This is called “half-wheeling” and if they move over suddenly into your front wheel,
you are going to crash!
We will take up one lane only. If there are two or more lanes in the direction of travel, we will generally ride in the far-right lane only. Leave room for the cars! The exception will be for parked cars and other obstacles in the far-right lane, or when we plan to turn.
Helmets are strongly recommended, and lights are required if we are riding at night.
